It is a popular location for boating, crappie fishing, waterfowl hunting and sighting American Bald Eagles. Wildlife viewing, watersports and other outdoor activities can also be enjoyed in the other wildlife management areas and parks. Obion County is located along the Mississippi Flyway, a bird migration route that hosts more than 100,000 geese and over 200,000 ducks annually.
Family Activities
A 50-acre site with a three-story, 100,000-square foot building, Discovery Park is an educational experience unlike any other. It was developed by local, private investors to enhance the educational experience of children and adults, and it received more than one million visitors in just three short years. Some of the other popular local attractions include Dixie Gun Works, a museum that houses antique automobiles, guns and farm vehicles, and Masquerade Theatre, a theatre group which has renovated Capitol Theatre and presents high-quality productions each year.
